school description

I took my first Yoga class in 1997, I didn't have a clue what is was doing confusing my feet with my hands, never mind my left to right. My first few years as a Yogi I spent more time trying to motivate myself onto the mat than I did on it. Over time, as I began to let go of what I thought I should be the discipline came. From Ashtanga to Anusara I have travelled the world for Yoga and fun. I have learnt through life how to embody the flow on and off the mat. Always working, always practicing, always the student. I realise now that the time spent practicing off the mat is just as important as that spent on it. They feed each other making a balanced and fulfilling life more attainable less ridden with guilt. In 2008 my daughter Maia was born, the journey through pregnancy, childbirth and Motherhood has only enhanced by my practice. This journey has also served to make my Yoga practice stronger and more balanced. Achieving the perfect pose at any cost is something I no longer want. Though I do and will always continue to push the limits of my physical body I do so now in a much more caring and forgiving way. The goal for me now is to live a long, happy and healthy life. Perfect body, perfect pose are just not worth it if happiness, peaceful mind and healthy body are sacrificed. Maia's first yoga class 2008 Maia's first yoga class 2008 As a teacher on this path there is nothing I enjoy more than hearing people laugh and enjoy themselves in class. To see people leave with a smile on their face is to me a job well done.

YOGA FLOW
I teach a strong dynamic flowing yoga that has been influenced by all the styles of yoga I have learnt, practiced and trained in on my yoga path.

Ashtanga to Anusara - from strong and dynamic to tantric philosophy and optimal alignment

Vinyasa Flow - learning to move with the breath in a creative sequence embodying the flow on and off the mat.

Pranayama - Uijaii or uplifting breath is the breath we use in class also practice other methods and techniques to further enhance our practice and understanding the healing nature of the breath
Minfulness - from the moment you arrive on the mat until quite some time after you leave class. Learning how to increase that over time

Meditation - Simple techniques to quieten the mind.
