Classes are held in: Total Physio, Sandyford, Yoga South, Sallynoggin Core Studio, Glasthule Sighle has her own special skills and Sighle Portraitextended trainings. She is fully insured, and strives to share with you something of their own commitment and love of the practice of Yoga. Sighle Mc Donnell has been teaching Yoga in and around Dalkey for almost 25 yrs and has held workshops in both Ireland and aboard. She started teacher training in the 80’s with the IYA. Remedial Yoga training in the ‘90’s helped her to recover fully from illness (Sarcoidosis) and back surgery (Spinal Fusion). Sighle is a Certified Remedial Teacher y.h.r.t (c.) completing both the Initial and Intermediate levels. Sighle’s safe gentle approach to the practice evolved into her class Yoga for Pregnancy. For over 20 yrs. Sighle has been guiding women and their partners successfully through pregnancy, with the confidence to birth well and later recover the strength and well being needed for motherhood. To bring her pregnancy yoga to a bigger audience Sighle co-produced with Dee O’Rourke a DVD A Labour of Love in 2009.

Prenatal Yoga

Each session includes gentle Restorative Yoga stretches, birth preparation with effective breathing techniques for labour, Meditation and Relaxation. From her Remedial training, the asanas are especially modified to care for pregnancy related body changes .Meditation and relaxation techniques offer the much needed “time out” to acknowledge and integrate the many changes that are experienced throughout these very special months. Special attention is given at each session to breathing and movements that ensure a more stress free experience of birth. Sighle will create a safe comfortable space which allows you to voice and questions any concerns you may have, so that you can relax and enjoy connecting to your baby.

Gentle Yoga

A restful Yoga & Meditation practice for stressful times. These sessions include a Restorative practice with a compassionate Buddhist guided Meditation and relaxation techniques.

Sighle has developed her own unique style, combining safe Restorative Yoga practice (Qualified with Judith Lasater “relax and renew” in the US) along with flowing Contemporary Yoga sequences (Certified with Contemporary Yoga, Cork) .The 2-hour sessions allows time to move slowly and gently from Meditation, Circle work, Pranayama, then Asanas into Relaxation. These classes are suitable for men and women of all level of fitness. A healthy mix of age at the sessions helps to promote respect and openness to diversity and individuality.
