A bit about me I discovered yoga approximately sixteen years ago when I started going to local hatha yoga classes in Kildare. I remember practicing poses at home in between my weekly classes – I was simply fascinated by yoga and the depth of it and still am :) In 2001 I received my first teaching diploma which gave me a foundation on which I was to discover, learn, and love yoga all the more. I continued with my quest to learn more ab0ut yoga through going to regular classes, participating in workshops and having regular one to one meetings with the very respected yoga teacher Hanne Gillespie (of almost ten years). I have completed both the Introductory and Foundation Viniyoga courses over the years and in April 2010 I completed the 3 year Sadhana Mala Yoga Teacher and Therapy training course. This course is accredited with the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY). I am also qualified to teach students on a one to one basis, which includes yoga therapy for specific needs. Paula is professionally accredited to teach by the British Wheel of Yoga, BWY, a National Governing Body for Yoga in the UK. About Classes and courses Module I course presents the basic principles of practice. It involves learning core postures with the appropriate use of the breath. This beginners course is for six weeks. Module II course is for ongoing students and beginners, where we will learn to develop the core postures that we did in module I and learn new asymmetrical poses. We will also be exploring twists and practice seated breathing. Module III is for those who have a minimum of one year’s experience from a regular group class and who want to explore and stretch their abilities in a more dynamic, or at times, depending upon the practice, a more subtle way. What wear to yoga class Wear comfortable, light, stretch clothing. Try not to eat for two hours before class; a light snack is fine. Bring some water before and after the class time. Please be on time. In the interests of safety every student must fill out an Enrolment form.

Viniyoga Yoga

The Art of Viniyoga will give you a thorough grounding in the principles that underpin viniyoga: structuring a practice, working intelligently with the sequencing of postures, using the breath in asana, seated breathing, philosophy (especially Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra), and Vedic chant. The emphasis is always on working through practice.
